Consultation

Your consultation is your first and most important visit to the practice. We place a great importance on going into your history in depth. Often things you may not realise are significant can have a great bearing on making a correct diagnosis. We give a thorough physical examination of the whole body in order to understand the root cause of your problem. Sometimes problems of which the patient was unaware can come to light ensuring treatment is more effective. Your diagnosis will be explained in a way that you will understand. You will have plenty of time to ask any questions and it is often possible to have your first treatment immediately following your consultation. When you come for an appointment at the Practice you will be seen either by Dr Sherwood or one of his fully qualified assistants who have been extensively trained in The Sherwood Technique.

Treatment

Treatment is individual and may vary according to your progress. We are always interested to hear how you are feeling and how you have been in between appointments. The Practice specialises in Physical medicine under Dr Sherwood as Consulting Physician. We use manipulation, mobilisation, massage, acupuncture and electro-therapies such as a muscle stimulator, ultrasound and Power Assisted Micro-Manipulation (PAM or TAMARS) to treat a variety of diseases stemming from problems with both the spine and lymphatic system. Patients are sometimes worried that the treatment will be painful and most are pleasantly surprised to find that treatment is reassuringly relaxing. The treatment offered at the practice is advanced conventional medicine and not alternative medicine and although many patients will have had elements of the treatment elsewhere, the way they are used at the practice is unique.
